Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson
This book is a wonderfully poetic yet tragic love story. At first, I found the fact that it was written in the second person quite jarring, but once you lean into it, the words take you away.
The intimacy is amplified by the use of the second person narrative style, and the emotion alongside the exploration of masculinity and race is something that was so captivating and eye opening.
I think this is one of those books that everyone should read. It’s available on the 4th February, and is available to preorder now.
