The Comfort Book by Matt Haig

This book was kindly sent to me by Canongate, and oh my goodness am I happy they did.

As you all probably know by now, I am a huge fan of Matt Haig’s writing. Whilst in his fiction, he builds fantastical worlds you can't help but dive into, his non-fiction books, to me, have always been so comforting.

I read ‘Reasons to Stay Alive’ at a crucial point in my life, a point in which I needed a list of reasons. His other non-fiction book ‘Notes on a Nervous Planet’, whilst perhaps being less poignant to me, has also made me feel calmer and more prepared for what the world throws at me. But his latest book, ‘Thee Comfort Book’, is something altogether different.

This book is a collection of things that @mattzhaig himself finds comforting. It’s full of lists, quotes, thoughts, and it brought me close to tears on a number of occasions whilst I read this.

We all need a little comfort, after the year we’ve had. And this book could not be coming out at a better time.
